I am considering purchasing a week at this facility. The prospective seller apparently "inherited" the ownership but actually knows very little about it and really wants nothing further to do with it.
I have been to the facility before and I know the physical layout pretty well --- it's essentially a converted motel with small units (...but it's also waterfront). I also know about the extensive North wing fire in 2005 (...and the exceedingly long time period it took to rebuild).
I'd welcome and appreciate either openly posted input or a PM from a current owner here regarding any opinions, updates, or any other informed input regarding the ongoing and unresolved legal actions against the insurance company, the ongoing special assessments, the current HOA, etc.
This is not a request for a "review"; I'm seeking informed input from a current owner regarding the unresolved legal, insurance, and special assessment issues which seems to be an "ongoing saga" at this facility. From previous visits, I like the place, but I am also not looking to hastily buy into an ongoing (and so far, seemingly endless) mess with insurance settlements, legal actions and ongoing "special assessments" unless there is actually some light already visible (even if only faintly) at the end of the tunnel...
Informed input, either public or private via PM from a current owner would be most sincerely appreciated.
