Need to leave our conversion van at an "offsite" parking lot near the Philly airport. We have used "Colonial" in the past...but saw several other options mentioned on the DISboards, including Pacifico, Winner, etc. Wondering if any TUGgers have had experience with some of the other parking facilities? Since we will be using the conversion van (7 of us, plus luggage), we cannot use "parking garages" due to the height limit. Outdoor valet is fine w/ us. Just looking for safe area, close to airport, reliable, inexpensive, etc.

Haven't used any for several yrs since my son and dil live in Philly and we now go there but there are several hotels which offer free parking if you choose to stay the night before (if an early flight). I found Comfort Inn, Microtel Inn and Suites, Four Points Sheraton, Sheraton Suites, Renaissance Phil, Embassy Suites and Hilton/Phl Airport.

There are also several Park and Ride businesses on Island Ave in Philly and you may be able to google for a listing. I have previoysly used about 3 of them with no problems. Some offer to wash and clean your car for an additional fee. Sorry I didn't look up individual ones.

Good luck. I think they are all pretty safe and reliable.

We have used Winner twice. You can find a coupon online if you do a search. For an extra $10 you can have them meet you at the airport when you come home, and drive right home. We were supposed to do this both times. In May, we called once we got our luggage. The driver arrived and had no idea that we were supposed to leaved from there, so we drove him back to the lot. Apparently a miscommunication, because it was not on the bill. We will use them again.

We often use the 'Park and Jet" at the Ramada Inn in Essington. It costs under $10/day and they are very prompt in their pickup and delivery. The lot is fenced in and staffed 24 hrs/day. The hotel offers 'free' parking for up to a week if you spend the night there but honestly, the last time we did that we said we wouldn't stay there again. So if you can arrange to just drive there the day of your flight, it's a pretty good deal!

I've used AviStar several times. No matter which one you pick, make an online reservation. Seems that the lots are often full and if you don't have a reservation, they will turn you away.

I have used Pacifico and Fastrack. Probably wouldn't use Pacifico again. It takes a while to get through the check-in line and then took a while for my car to arrive. Fastrack was decent. Got checked in ok and the bus was reasonably prompt returning.

Personally, I just park in the airport garage these days. Its a lot more, but I cut it pretty close too many times to rely on on someone else to get me to the terminal.

We really like pre-flight parking. They have indoor or outdoor parking and they really help you with your bags (that's big with me). They use a really nice van/bus and come every 5 minutes so you don't have to call them.

Parking for air travel

I second the vote for Pre-Flight parking lot. I have used them many times and have been satisfied. They also have a web site that offers a small discount.

We like Winners and have used them a few times in the last two years. I like not having to unload luggage twice. Note, though, they will be driving your vehicle back and forth from their lot to the airport in case that bothers you. We found a great discount online too if you reserve through airportparkingreservations.com. It was $6.50/day plus tax.

Just curious;; Why do you want off-site parking?
