I spent a week on Cape Cod at Cape Cod Holiday Estates in Mashpee. This timeshare is going belly up, so Capital Vacations has swooped in to offer owners a way out by "offering membership in their vacation company".

Evidentially, they are doing this for other Cape timeshares that are in trouble financially.

Anyone know anything about Capital Vacations?

CapitaI Vacations bought VRI management company and trying to get owners to join their vacation club. I am an owner at Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort and they are holding "owner meetings" daily and are trying to get the existing owners give up their timeshares and join their vacation club. They are telling owners a lot of untrue things like the resort is in financial trouble to get you to give up your units and purchase points in their club. They want you to pay them up to $40,000 to get into the club. When you do not buy they keep reducing the price. Our resort HOA gave them 250 weeks to help them start their club. They did not pay for the weeks, but are now responsible for paying the maintenance fees on those weeks.

I was there the end of January and did not attend the meeting as I do not have time to waste even though I was there for 6 weeks. They have been calling my cell phone at least 2 times a day since. I have blocked their numbers, but keep coming up with new extensions daily and they get blocked. They do not leave a message, just keep calling. I spoke to them once by mistake and they started their sales pitch and I hung up. I own 5 consecutive winter prime weeks and not giving them up.

If you do happen to answer - file a complaint with the FTC, and let then know your are doing so. Also tell them you are on the Federal DO NOT CALL list and they are violating the law by calling you

I own at Hawaiian princess and hawaiian Sun Holidays. Vri used to be the management company for one and trading places used to be the management company for the other. Now Capital Vacations does both. HSH h.o.a.s went from $690 after COVID to $824 since Capital took over. They are also demanding the 2024 dues in July of this year instead of January 1 of next. I bought an additional HP week timeshare and received it in April but just found that out by accident when I logged into my new Capital Vacations account

I was introduced to Capital Vacations for the first time today --
when I attempted to login using my Gaslamp Plaza Owners Portal.
And may I say it was not a very good first impression.

I've been a Happy \ Satisfied owner there for many years -- never had one complaint. They have many employees who have been there 20+ years.

Today, after spending nearly an hour trying, I never accomplished being able to log in to my online account -- using my new Capital Owner #. Finally gave up and attempted to use phone to book a week for 2024. Requested any time in July or August. Nope -- nothing available. This has never been a problem before.

Uggh!!!

We are also owners at Gaslamp Plaza Suites, and have had similar problems. I finally found 1 1/2 persons who know what they're talking about and helped, but the rest have been completely incompetent. Many hours and phone calls have been spent trying to log into my account and make a reservation.

You might think about writing a letter to the Board of Directors suggesting they choose a different management company. I tried to get the staff at Gaslamp to help, and was told the person wasn't allowed to intervene.

Thank you for you response, and yes, I am planning to write a letter to Board.
I've been a happy owner at Gaslamp Plaza Suites for many years. The on-site staff are wonderful. I feel sad for them.
