MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., May 9, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Capital Resorts Group, LLC d/b/a Capital Vacations®, a leading provider in the vacation ownership industry, is taking action to neutralize so-called "exit companies" who employ unlawful business practices to prey on its owners and members while collecting exorbitant fees for a service that they cannot and do not provide.

wonder if this is the beginning of another round of suits against exit companies...which would be as frustrating to me as it was whan DRI did it knowing full well their exit program at the time left a large % of its owners high and dry with no option to surrender or give back.

does surprise me that they seem to avoid the largest players in suits like these vs going after the small potatoes? guess maybe this company happened to be operating in south carolina where capital is headquartered while the other players seem to stick to very "business over consumer friendly" states.

I'd guess they have resorts that have been affected? Yes they could make it easier for their owners if they tried.

PR from Capital Vacations, lawsuit filed in CV's home state. It seems like a game of 'whack a mole' with these TS exit companies.

Can you go after media outlets/personalities that accept advertising from these fraudsters?

Exit companies would not even exist if timeshare companies made it easier to divest or simply get liquidity through rentals. Desperate people do desperate things and bad people prey on that vulnerability. Not rocket science to see how we got here.

well now, this is certainly an interesting trend!

Call me a cynic, but I have to believe that Capital Resorts has some less than obvious underlying motive here that is somehow directly beneficial to them.
I just don't see Capital Resorts ever acting with consumer advocacy in mind, nor with any other motive or agenda that is not completely self-serving.

I also note (with additional cynicism) that the cited material is a PR piece prepared by and released by Capital themselves, not by or through an independent source.
