Does anyone know why RCI dropped the Palace Resorts chain for exchange. As of Jan 1, they are only with II. :annoyed:

It wasn't necessarily RCI's decision to drop Palace resorts. It was likely that the developer liked the deal that II offered to them better than the one RCI offered and/or the developer thought it could sell more memberships being associated with II.

I had heard a rumor that they didn't like that RCI was offering the Prepay all inclusive with the 7 days for the price of 4. But there was a 1 in 4 rule applied. We enjoyed this at times. But I would think that Palace could tell them no. Saddened that they are no longer with RCI. We are at the Moon Palace right now and can get no explanation.

We are PR members, and have been for a number of years. We weren't notified of this change at all, nor had we heard anything about it until it was mentioned here on TUG! I just don't get it. We should have received some kind of notification.

Btw, when I checked the website a few minutes ago, it still indicates deposits will go into RCI, when you use the Deposits function. And there is no information about this change on the "News" section of the website. We have never deposited, but we have friends who do, and I think they will be very disappointed. They will have to open II accounts I assume.

If anyone gets more onfo on this, I hope they post here. We are going to Moon Palace later this year, but if people who are there now can't get info, I'm guessing we won't be able to get much either.

I have seen Palace Resorts also in II for both Getaways and Exchanges. It doesn't look like the OP is a member, so it could be the salesperson was trying to scare the OP into buying a membership telling her that all future deposits would be made in II and that RCI members would no longer have access to stays.

You are correct; we are not Palace members. We chose not to do the sales pitch,as we had done it before, and 4 weeks is enough!!!I stopped by a guest relations desk tonight and she did say that they will not be affiliated with RCI trades in the future. Those people who had already booked, are of course accommodated.

If you go to the RCI website, there are no Palace resorts listed.

SFX has access I think. Do you have a deposit they would take?

I have II and RCI. I can use II, but used that for something else. Used the RCI for the Moon Palace. I looked at the SFX and saw the membefship fee. My others are paid up in advance so don't think switching would make money sense. also I couldn't find out then AI fee with SFX. That might make a difference.
