Cancelling Home Week Reservation

Can I book a home week reservation and later cancel during the club window?

Do the points flow back into my account immediately?

Are there any cancellation fees involved? (I never booked a home week reservation before!)
 
No cancellation fees. I have only cancelled my home week at an affiliate, and those points were in my account within a few hours as I recall. Not sure if it would be any different for a true HGVC resort.

No fee to cancel. The points quickly reappear.
A point-penalty starts at 31 days out, but there are workarounds.
Some resorts need a call as their booking is not done online.

If rebooking the points as a club reservation, you will incur a fee.

No reservation fee for a home week reservation, so nothing to lose.

Since you own at W. 57th, I believe, did you pay the yearly fee (I think it's like $129) to waive all reservation/cancellation fees? We did and like it very much.

Yes we have that West 57 benefit. Totally worth the $129 because it also works for non-West 57 property reservations (e.g. HHV) and reservations made with my Vegas property points. I can book speculatively across multiple weekends/weeks and cancel once my dates are confirmed without thinking about it. Really helps to stretch my points. Also can call dedicated line to ask questions and change reservations.

Just wasn't sure how home week cancellations work.
