Hi All,

Please help! I think I have until tomorrow to cancel my contract for 81,000 staroptions just purchased as part of the FLEX program in Maui at the Westin. I already own 67,100 options bought from the developer back in 2007 so adding the 81,000 options gave me a 2 bedroom EOY and exactly what I wanted...but the price. I paid $18k for this luxury and as a bonus, rec'd a one time 81k points and some options to buy 4 certificates for bonvoy points at a reduced cost...not sure (in fact yes I am!) that this is absurd and not worth it. My only fear is not knowing the secondary market: If I find 81k points resale, will I be able to travel? Book anything? My main goal is a one bedroom MOST of the time with my little girls, but 2 bedroom option if I bring parents or friends. Not too concerned about not being able to transfer options to Points, I'm always using my StarOptions and running out (remember I only own EOY) but what am I missing?? Will I not FIND weeks available in network if I buy resale? Is the vacation hard to book? Cannot exchange? What is this MANDATORY property stuff I've never heard of? Please shed some light, I'm running out of time!!

Well, since it looks like your already quite concerned about your decision since there are three separate threads on it that Ive seen shows you already know the answer. Just rescind now, then do your homework and figure out your best option when time is on your side. I think if you blow by your end date to cancel this thing you will be disappointed.
I know your feeling, I was there and frantic about it when I made a decision I wasn't comfortable with. Luckily I rescinded and felt great about it. Good luck.

First things first. Since you have doubts, and you should have doubts, CANCEL NOW. Don't waste time waiting for answers here, RESCIND NOW. The same deal will be available next week or next month if you want to buy again. If you don't rescind, you will then be sitting on these additional 81K HomeOptions with no easy or cheap way out. Cancel first, then do more research to find out what you really should be looking for and also wait out any changes that Marriott announces with a combined Vistana MVC program.

You have one limited time offer to cancel now but you will have plenty of chances to buy again in the future.

So you owned Westin lagunamar and bought flex? Can’t combine those until 8 months. I do hope you were able to rescind in time. Keep up posted on what happened
