HGV cancelled my timeshare contract in December 2024, based on the fact that I did not return the missing doc "Addendum to US Collection, Purchase and Security Agreement For Virginia Purchasers - Purchaser's Non-Waivable Rights To Cancel" that I received electronically in November, more than 60 days after I signed the set of paperwork on 8/28/2024 with a HGV Mystic Dunes Sales Team.
I was contacted toward the end of November 2024 about this missing doc. In December, I paid in full for this contract (an add'l 400 points to my existing timeshare I owned before HGV bought it from Diamond). I also paid the the 2025 maint fee. The missing doc was not presented during my meeting with the sales POC on 8/28/2024. I contacted the POC with whom I interacted last on 8/28 who claims to be the quality assurance and control for the contract signing process but he did not return my call and email. An HGV broker stepped in and gave me a deadline to sign & return the missing doc NLT 1/21/2025. I contacted Finn Law Group but they only do timeshare exits.
I do not want to give up my Diamond timeshare that I owned, paid in full since 2008. I just want to cancel this 4K points US Collection that I bought in August 2024 while I was at HGV Mystic Dunes, Orlando. Should I request to go to arbitration for the cancellation of this contract and a full refund on what I paid due to the HGV staff error and omission, contract misrepresentation or is there an attorney who could advise and assist? Pls let me know the name of a law firm to contact. Thank you for your help.
