Does anyone know how a US citizen is affected when TS fees in Canada are abandoned? It is impossible to sell or give away the unit (no mortgage balance) because Canada requires both buyer and seller to hire separate attorneys and the resort requires attorneys for the resort also be paid. Canada also requires the seller acquire a tax ID.

As a Canadian and owner of several timeshares I have never hired a lawyer and never acquired a tax ID. The most I have done is had the paperwork notarized. I think you should tell us what you actually own so we can try to help.

That doesnt sound right at all! Is the TS deeded or points? Agree with Tacoma - please let us know what timeshare this is as we can likely help.
