Can you exchange a confirmed exchange with your AC?

I have a confirmed exchange that also meets the dates/place etc. with my AC can I switch those after the confirmation has been made. The date expires on my AC before my exchange would.. any thoughts? :)

You would have to cancel your exchange and rebook using your AC. You would lose your exchange fee and then pay the fee for the AC.

If you do it, make sure you call II and make sure the rep can hold the unit at the time of cancellation so you dont lose it before confirming with the AC.

I believe you would have to pay a fee to extend the date of the AC.

II's official policy is that ACs cannot be extended. However, some have been able to get extensions for a few weeks (without any extra fee) if the purpose is to request confirmation for a week that would likely otherwise go unused.

Craig Urbine, when he was II's rep to TUG, confirmed that such an extension is occasionally possible.
