The title states my question. A salesperson at WKORV told me this. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks.

Yes, but:

1) they are closing from Sept - April for renovations & rebranding - http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65491

2) the facilities available to WPORV owners are the same ones available to any member of the public.

WPORV owner's please correct me if I'm wrong! ;)

I hope they allow charging privileges.

I can't imagine pool facilities at the St Regis available to the public.

There are supposed to be charging privileges at the restaurants bars and gift shops, but no access to the pool is allowed.

You are correct - nor will they be to timeshare owners...

Can't anyone with a credit card charge at the bars, restaurants, etc.?

I think he means the ability of charging back to your room number without a credit card.

I know, but is there any real advantage to that, besides the savings a minute or two at the time of transaction?

Additional Starpoint earnage??? I can't remember if account charges earn points at SVO props? Otherwise, not benefit I can think of...other than helping to sell timeshares.

As an owner there, the affiliation (or lack thereof) with the hotel is not a big benefit for me. The location and views are.

Since they are both Starwood properties, I believe the Starpoints earned with an AMEX would be the same either way? (Yes, you do earn extra Starpoints for charges at a Starwood hotel or timeshare.)

Convenience.

Last week at WKORV, it was great that the entire family was able to charge to the room without the need of carrying cash (for the hot dog man) or a credit card. We had multiple charges daily to the room. I found it especially convenient when we left WKORV and headed over to the Sheraton for snorkeling...all we had to bring were clothes and towels because we were all able to charge gear, food, etc. to our room. One room key was all that we needed to bring.

Yeah....but it such a minor thing - would that even come into the equation when buying a TS????

The room charging convenience would not enter the equation if buying a TS. But the use of the other facilities would...like you said in my other thread, no beach access on WPORV is a bummer. If I'm able to use the beach and not the pool at the hotel, that may be a deal killer for me.

You know the hotel and resort aren't adjacent to each other, right? They are around 2 miles apart.
