We are in the process of buying an EOY at Kierland.

Can someone explain what these fees are?
We only plan to use Star options or II

1) VSN Membership fee/Club dues
2)Convert to Marriott Bonvoy points
3) VSN Select

1) VSN Club dues are the fee you’ll pay to have access to the VSN network and use StarOptions. It should also include your II membership fee.

2) If you want to convert your VOI to Bonvoy points you’ll have to pay a fee to do so (this is uniformly a bad idea for most uses).

3) VSN Select is a fee that you would pay to use your SO to book into hotels or cruises. Usually not an efficient use of SO.

1 is required to be paid if you own a mandatory resale. 2 and 3 are only paid if you use those “features” of the program and are avoidable.

Thank you!
My understanding from this owner is his Westin does not include II or Housekeeping? I thought I had to pay all of those each year. Is that not the case?

You’ll get one housekeeping per VOI per year. So if this is your only ownership you won’t have to pay a housekeeping charge unless you do multiple reservations.

The II membership is included as part of your VSN fee, but you’ll still have to pay for exchanges using II.

A mid week "tidy" and a weekly "full" housekeeping is included for a 7nt stay. The full is done in between stays.

Anything else is extra cost

#2 and #3 won't even apply since these can't be done with unqualified VOIs.

As for housekeeping, I believe with a lock off unit, which WKV is, you get two credits each year.

Good points. Correct on all.
