Can I book now with reservation fee waived and then modify reservation to something better later?

Through May 31, HGVC is allowing members to make reservations without having to pay the typical reservation fee. So, if I wanted to take advantage of these free exchanges could I just book something - even it is not exactly what I want - and then modify that reservation to something more desirable? Is there any reason to think reservations made during this time would not be changable?

It's a sound plan. Others have done or are doing the same thing. See this thread - No Club fee for new reservations

Yup. I would advise it if you plan on booking something either later this year or next.

I make 3 reservations: 3N in a studio, same dates, different resorts.
Needless to say, I cannot be in 3 different places at once, until...
They clone me. But I expect to change all three to what I want later.
