Hi all,
We will be staying at Crystal Shores in Marco Island, FLA at the end of August and wondered about the use of facilities at the nearby Marriott Hotel. Can villa guests at Crystal Shores use the pools and other facilities at the hotel or is this not allowed? It seems like some of the hotel resorts are fine with this and others have banned the sharing with nearby MVC guests, so I thought I'd ask if anyone knew about this location.

Thanks in advance for info; we're looking forward regardless of the answer, to our first visit to Marco Island!
Vicki

Also, how are restaurants at Marriott Marco Island hotel?

Bumping this (hasn't anyone stayed at Crystal Shores?)...

Also wondered about the hotel restaurants - we still have a few 2 for 1 certificates that we purchased before they discontinued the program and wondered if we could use them while in Marco Island ...

We stayed at Marco almost two years ago and there was no reciprocity between the hotel and timeshare then, haven't heard anything about that changing since.

You can visit the hotel, eat at the restaurants (which are all open to the public) and schedule spa services, but you won't be able to charge any of these to your unit at Crystal Shores. (Of course if you pay with your Marriott VISA you'll get the bonus MRP.) The only advantage I noticed to being a Crystal Shores guest trying to use the hotel spa, is that the spa was willing to work with me to schedule a pedicure when the schedule was pretty full already.

I don't know anything about the 2-for-1 certs, agree with LilMsFoodie that your best bet is to contact the concierge for the most up-to-date info.

Have fun at Marco Island - Crystal Shores is just beautiful. There are a few pics in this thread.

Agree. Best to call concierge to see if anything has changed. Please report. This would be such a huge bonus for this resort, in my opinion. We stayed last summer at Crystal shores and as Sue said, there was no reciprocity. You are not granted access to the pools or charge back privileges.

Two summers ago we stayed at the hotel and REALLY loved it. Had 3 Oceanfront units with a beautiful wrap around balcony on one. Loved the full hotel services and the beachfront pool and dining choices.

Crystal shores is beautiful, but definitely missed the services, amenities and grounds at the hotel, but the kitchen and in- room laundry facilities were our opinion.

Al that said, we would definitely stay there again. The rooms are beautiful and so spacious and the kids lovde the pool. They have a great MAZE (kids) program that really kept our crew ( we had three units among friends and family) engaged at all times of the day.

Update - Our Crystal Shores stay extended to Marriott Marco Island Resort...

Our stay at Crystal Shores ended last Saturday morning and we ended up checking into the hotel later that day as our flight into Newark airport in the AM was cancelled due to Hurricane Irene. We are enjoying our stay at the hotel now (gulf front room - as was our Crystal Shores villa) and wanted to update all on the reciprosity between the hotel and Crystal Shores. While we WERE able to charge back to our rooms interchangeably (Tropiks for breakfast while staying at Crystal Shores and Stilts for dinner while staying at hotel) from the restaurants, we were warned that pool use was restricted in both cases. That said, the bracelet use and enforcement was at Crystal Shores pools only, so you probably could have used the pools at the hotel while staying at Crystal shores (not that we did)... We enjoyed both stays immensely but are ready to return home tomorrow morning (though power in our home probably remains off and we do have a downed tree in our front yard to attend to). As the signs all said 'Goodnight/Goodbye Irene'....

Thanks for the update. The charge back feature is nice, so you hopefully get the extra points for MR visa points for a marriott stay.
