Call from Ocean Oak Concierge Pre-visit

Nope, it can only be booked at less than 90 days with normal HGVC club points.
You are right. I was thinking of my last RCI query where I could book The District further out.

Here is the 1 bedroom via RCI for a week....for only 5,440 pts.

Yes, but the window to book bHC as a regular HGVC member is short at the NYC properties and, I think, at DC. I was able to book on Sept 18 the Elara HC for May 17-21. The points came out of my 2024 HGVC points bucket, not my bHC points bucket. That’s in the 9-month club window, not the 60-day window offered to us for West 57th. I was surprised the regular club window was available for bHC.
I thought you could book bHC Elara at the standard 9 month club window?

That would be why your booking used regular HGVC points.

What possibly could she be referring to?
SHe was blowing smoke. Or they are DRI resorts and she knew you didn't like the sound of that and lied. Or she idn't know what she was talking about and just plain making things up. Happens all the time.

Oh, I agree. That is always what I am thinking. My belief is that the HGVC concierges are just trying to get you to attend the owner's update (aka. actually sales presentation). I actually would like to go (assuming that the gift is high enough and it will fit our schedule) just to see how the salesperson tries to "play it" with my portfolio. The last time that I attended a sales presentation at OO, I really did want an OO platinum season Ocean Front. They couldn't get the price down to what I was willing to pay. I was able to get what I wanted on the resale market for a much better deal (IMO). So bottom line, my portfolio is set.

I suspect that the Concierge are incentivized through compensation to convert as many eligible owners to go on an owners update as they can.

Yep turned out to be a good thing. I get to use most of next year’s points and get my MF + a markup reimbursed by a friend of mine. So I have only 2000 points left which will put me into borrowing from the future rather than paying to save points into the future.

I will report back. The concierge called again and assured me that the 20+ new HGVC properties weren't DRI (European) or Embarc. Plus she increased her offer.

I have my owners update today. The first question was “what do you want to know”. I said, “I want to hear about the 20 new HGVC properties”. Of course, the only new properties are those purchased from DRI now HVC part of the HGV Max program. The approach that this salesperson took was trying to convince me to buy so that I would move to HgvMax Centurion level (which I don’t believe that I would because of the resale but didn’t want to argue everything he said) and I would be able to have high number of search requests at 10 months booking at 9 months. I told him I wasn’t going to buy anything that wasn’t implemented. This feature is suppose to be implemented March 2024.

So basically no useful information. Now, he did tell me that the Ocean Oak is around 85% sold out with OF platinum season selling for $93K and gold season for $70K. I believe that to be true because he wasn’t trying to sell me that.
