For those who watch the show "Parenthood", a sub plot of last weeks show was the fact that the one married couple had an app on their cell phones that would sync their calendars and todo lists with each others. All throughout the show the husband's cell phone would beep with a schedule update or change.

This really intrigued me and I think this would be beneficial for my husband and I. We both have Droid 2 phones. I did a search of apps and what I mostly found looked like just regular appt apps for just one phone.

Is there a special app or do we use one of these basic ones, but have to do something special to our phone?

Any one have any experience?

Thanks in advance.

My ex wife and I use a a shared google calendar for our daughter and both of our phones sync that calendar.

I agree with hypnotiq. Google calendar allows you to have any number of calendars and view them all or just selective ones on your droid (Android.) You can set it up on the computer or the phone. You just have to make sure to set the sharing options appropriately to allow the family members to view or edit. I have 3 different calendars I maintain plus I have access to other family members for viewing only.

Another vote for Google Calendar. Very easy to sync and use.

Another thing I forgot to add, is you dont need to be using Android to get all the benefits of shared Google calendars.

Im on a Windows Phone and my ex is using iPhone and it works great for us.

As BoaterMike said, just make sure you set the sharing options and change options appropriately.

Check out Cozi at cozi.com. It is a shared calendar for multiple family members as well as shared shopping and to do lists. A free app for iphone, android, and any computer that can access the web.

We love it and it instantly updates everyone whenever one person changes something.
