Today I just so happened to call one of our resorts and discovered that our fixed week 31 was not the week we thought it was for this summer. I was very well aware that this year was a 53 week year, as the dates for our other resort- week 30- were different and I just naturally assumed that the week 31 at the other resort followed it. They are both Sunday check ins.
I come to find out that the week 31 resort is using the II weeks calendar(even though they have RCI points owners and Innseason points owners, as well as fixed week owners), whereas our week 30 resort uses the RCI calendar. This never occurred to me- that the weeks calendars would be different!
Needless to say, I was very upset because we usually go up to VT for week 30 and then drive the 2 hours to NH for week 31. Anyway, management said I could swap for the check in the week before. I am going to be anxiously awaiting their confirmation. They said they will try to get our exact unit, though someone owns that week and would have to not be using it. If not, they will try to get us something on the same floor. I am happy that they will do this for us.
The irony is the check in date they originally had us booked for would normally be the date we check in on week 31! Crazy! I just can't wrap my head around the whole thing. Anyway- why the heck don't these resorts and exchange companies have one calendar of weeks? No wonder people have a hard time using their weeks or exchanging!
PS- Does anyone know where I can get a II calendar of weeks going out a few years into the future? I have the RCI one, but not II. Considering my situation, I need one for future planning.
VRI did tell me next year my week 31 check in is 8/5 and that jives with my week 30, thank goodness.
