we have a wednesday check-in. i'm guessing that's not as common at this resort? or do owners (or trust owners) book nights, not weeks?

any suggestions for room requests? it's our first visit.

any must have restaurants, activities, things to avoid in the area?

You will probably be near one of the small pools; family pool or adult pool. I think the rooms that view the main pool are considered OV.

Definitely walk across the street to Penca and try the shrimp tacos or pasta. You can also walk to Los Tacos Locos, live music on Tuesday and Friday... Great tacos and ice cream... The elote is good but so are the others. The pineapple is really good plus good flan. Definitely do the art walk on Thursday night and have dinner down there

You can take an uber to La Comer for groceries...stock up on big jugs of water. The water in the rooms is not purified and the management will advise you to drink bottled water and get ice from the ice machines. Water and ice are purified in the bar/restaurants though

When are you going? Are you going to have a vehicle? In May it is not uncommon for the temperature to be over 100°F. Your Reservation Confirmation should say what view type you have. If it is a Pool View we prefer Rooms that overlook the Serenity Pools. Room assignments are made based on Ownership and time of day you check in. Thursday Nights is the Art Walk in Downtown San Jose del Cabo. About a mile walk. The more common Art/Crafts are in the Plaza. The higher quality Art Galleries are on Alvaro Obregon. The large Grocery Stores are about a mile walk. Go out the Resort and turn left. At the traffic circle turn right. We prefer La Comer. The locals still call it "Mega." On the Ocean side of Mega is a local Taco Restaurant - Claro Fish, Jr. There is also a Claro Fish, Jr on the walk to downtown San Jose del Cabo. We had several nice breakfasts across the street from the Resort. If you Book any activities they will pick you up and the Resort and return you to the Resort. Walmart is the best place to buy tequila. In all our years (20+) of going to Cabo we have never gotten sick or upset stomachs from drinking water at the Resorts. In the Restaurants we drink Aqua del Casa. The water of the House.

do you avoid the resort ice machines?
