Has anyone purchased a resale Vacation International contract without already owning a contract with them? I am wondering if there is a way to do the transfer through VI, including payment of the contract, to ensure that I don't get scammed. I know there is a transfer fee that is paid to them directly but if there is a fee that I am paying to the owner I am wondering if they can handle that as well. (And if anyone is looking to get rid of one, feel free to message me!)

VI handles it all in house. Easy peasy.
I got an account in 2019 from another tugger. She contacted VI who confirmed for me the details of the account and started the process. It took 2 weeks for the documents to be emailed. I signed and returned and the transfer was completed the next day. There was a 2 week delay in there where I missed one page that needed to be signed, but that was on me. Total time including my mistake was one month.
The contact info from 2019 was:

I just called them to ask, and they said I only pay them the transfer fee. The amount the seller is asking for the contract does not go through them, so I just am not sure how to confirm that it is legit and going to transfer before I issue the payment to the seller. Did you pay a fee for the contract or was it given to you for free?

I got it for free.

If there is money involved in the sale and you are not familiar with the seller, then you might want to consider an escrow company.

I have had both free and paid for. Both were the same process. One that I paid for was $1,100 and paid with pay pal. We found this one on the VI Facebook page. While timeshares aren't covered under pay pal, fraud is. The other one we paid for was through an Ebay broker.
