Buying travel at Costco? What to know about wholesale club deals.

This doesn't appear to be available to a nonsubscriber, so can't comment on the tips. But we booked a tour for 3 of us recently through Costco for an Insight tour. The price was good and it seemed to go fine. Our only glitch was that they apparently don't book the airline tickets when you sign up but wait until much closer to the departure date. We have priority status on Delta and wanted to do sear assignments but they weren't available yet. The best surprise…the healthy Costco rebate check we got a few months later. I'd forgotten that they would give us a rebate on travel, too, and it boosted our normally small rebate check to over a thousand dollars

We use Costco for cruises. For our last cruise we paid in full before Costco's due date which is 2 weeks sooner than Celebrity requires. Perk was a $165 Costco store card. Several weeks later I received an email from Costco informing me that I'd missed final payment and our cruise would be cancelled if I didn't pay up- an amount nearly twice what our invoice stated. This new pricing did include a $500 shop card. It took quite a few minutes on the phone with the Costco rep (different one every time you call) but everything was corrected EXCEPT that our now paid-in-full invoice included the $500 card! And yes, that is what we received on completion of our cruise! Costco's apology for their error I presume.
