Hi
Can we get good ground coffee (or beans that we grind) at Gigante? We'll probably pick up our groceries there.

Thanks
Diane

If you want *good* coffee, go to David Bodwell's Mazatlán Books & Coffee across from Costa de Oro timeshare (its behind the bank there). He sells the beans and will grind them for you. Plus you can get yourself some inexpensive reading material at the same time.

I would just pack a bag of your favorite coffee beans from home, the coffee in MX will probably be more expensive then in the US.

But everyone says the Mexican coffee is great. Last year we bought some real junk in PV at the walmart there and just this morning my husband was reminding me that we need to do some research as we head down in a few weeks. PV experts- where to get good coffee? Thanks

Mexican coffee

Mexico grows a lot of coffee in the Veracruz area and it's high quality. The best I ever have had I bought in a local market where they mixed and ground special combinations. Where is the local market in Mazatlan?
Thanks
Anita

Blondie--Walmart is a discount chain in the US, and is the same in Mexico, so I'm not surprised you didn't find high grade coffee there. For local ground coffee in Mazatlán I like Marino.

Diane,
I think you belong to MazInfo. If you do, email David Bodwell off list and ask him about the varieties he carries and the prices. Mazatlán Coffee and Book is located behind Banco Santander.

Cafe Tazza

This is a pretty good Mexican brand available in most Mexican supermarkets. Keep in mind that we are accustomed to Brazilian or Colombian coffee so it will taste different.
