Buying extra SPG points

Heard recently that addl Starwood points are available at rates below what Starwood charges(I believe it is $35.00 per 1,000 pts). Saw an ad for www.veteransadvantage.com offering 1000 SPG pts at $23.00 with membership. Any other ideas would be appreciated.
 
Just to clarify - these are hotel points, not timeshare Staroptions. They cannot be used for timeshare stays.
 
Recent WKORV-N owners were given the option of purchasing 80k SPGs for $1700...

SPG Amex has a great signing bonus where you can earn 25k SPGs after spending something like $10k.

Check Flyertalk.com for more ideas. They are the points gurus.
