I'll be traveling soon and this time I am flying. As I have discussed elsewhere, I put a HEPA filter in my hotel/timeshare rooms to help filter the air and make it more safe from COVID. I have also learned that it helps a lot with allergies so I plan to continue doing this long after COVID is no longer a threat. Anyway... for my upcoming trip I'm debating whether I should just stop at Target on the way to the timeshare and buy two HEPA filters or if I should get the supplies for Corsi-Rosenthal boxes?

Pro for HEPA
- quicker and easier to use
- smaller and less in the way

Pros for Corsi box
- cheaper
- likely higher volume air cleaning

Another factor to think about: weight. I mean, if you're flying, will the air freshener add x amount of weight to your checked baggage? Personally, I see nothing wrong with a HEPA air freshener, if it helps you breathe, go for it! I have a large air freshener in my home, but then I have a cat whose :poop: is a weapon of mass destruction!

I decided to buy them and bring them. I will not bring the ones from home because they are too big so I bought new ones that I will either bring back home and find spaces for them or I will leave them at the timeshare, maybe in the gym because every gym could use a HEPA filter ;)

My update: I bought HEPA and brought them from home but I think I would have been better off if I had bought them at my destination instead. Lugging them around was quite challenging. However, I packed them very well and they did not get damaged even though they were treated as cargo luggage.

I set them in the hotel rooms by the doors and I opened windows in the rooms to add ventilation. I have no idea how much impact these had to reduce our exposure to Covid and other airborne pathogens/allergens/pollutants but I do think it was likely helpful.
