myself & my grandkids are goint to breezy point timeshare in minn. dec. 29th we hope to snomobile and ice fish . we are from louisiana and they never see snow has anyone been to this resort in the winter time

it's been a few years

We went there over spring break.

The kids loved the choice of all the different pools (indoor). The town pretty much closes up for the winter, so not a whole lot happening. There was some nice shopping.

We had a condo with a hot tub, that was extremely popular. The best part, it was in its own room.

There's a day the resort has free ice skating nearby.

Had fun playing on the ice of the lake.

Most cooking I've ever done while on vacation - not a lot of restaurant choices our family would do (can't remember if there were any fast food ones)

Feel free to pm me with specific questions. We own 6 weeks there and are very knowledgable about the resort and area. We will be there over New Year's as well.

It would be very helpful to know the description of your reservation (the resort won't tell you which unit if it is an exchange, but if you know your check in day and unit size- ie 1BR 6/6, I can tell you exactly where you'll be.) The resort is very large with many sub-areas and differing ammenities.

Regardles of where you're located within the resort, you'll enjoy lots of pools. The new marina restaurant is under construction, so I would agree that you'll want to do some cooking.

My favorite church in the world is the Breezy Point chapel. It is non-denominational with visiting pastors. I can't remember if it's only operational in the summer, but it's right on site and it is so quaint and charming.

As for outdoor activities, it's all there. Bring many warm clothes so that you never have to put on wet clothes each time you go out.

Merry Christmas!

Jana

I grew up in that area. You will see snow. You will see ice. You will not see much of the sun. But as Jana mentioned, the resort is nice and you should have a great time.

Looks like the weather is going to be "balmy" with highs in the teens. :D (Hey, it could be much colder...) Wear warm layers and watch for the wind chill. A little breeze at lower temps can cause frost bite quickly on exposed skin.

Be safe and have fun!

There is a Minnesota couple who moved to a local golf development. They are long-time Breezy Point owners. I believe they said 20 years.

They like Breezy Point, I like them, so, by default, I like Breezy Point, although I've never been there.

Speaking of snow and the Twin Cities, yesterday I put a certain TUGger's passports in the mail, since they left them at their lake place here, and they are going to Mexico from up there 1/4.

:D

We love Breezy!

We have been to Breezy for Christmas several years. We love the resort. There has been lots of snow up this way this year so you should be able to cross country ski, snowmobile( rental) and even ice skate on the lake if you want. They also play "golf" on the lake and last year they put Christmas trees at each golf hole! You can even see the ice fishermen on the lake.
Each cabin or condo has a fireplace and it is warm and cozy at this time of year.
We love going to Nissawa to shop. It is a cute little town with many cute shops.
The indoor pools are fun too. The one off site(across the street) has a slide in it and my grandkids love it.
We also go in the summer and aside from not having more outdoor pools...we have had great times there with our family and extended families...
Enjoy your visit!
