Looking for any recommendations for things to for a week (6-20 to 6-27) with Breckenridge as our home base.

Our list so far includes biking down from Vail pass, and Weird Al concert at Red Rocks.

Red Rocks was on our radar as a must see a show there someday, and Weird Al was a part of my spouse’s childhood and he somehow brought our kids into appreciating him too. So we are going.

Will have our own vehicle and willing to do day trips decently far away, but prefer no extra overnights (unless compelling reason - for example stay at Kingsland in HI, we took an overnight to Volcano National Park and stayed in their onsite cabins - totally worth it)

Georgetown Loop Railroad is worth the time, I think. About 45 min from Breckenridge (on the way to Denver). You can ride a old narrow-gauge train up to Silver Plume and back, where the track actually loops over itself with a tall trestle bridge. The views are great, plus you can spend some time in Georgetown, which has some great Victorian houses.

I was just about to suggest the Georgetown train as well. And while they're on that side of the Eisenhower tunnel, driving up to the top of Mount Blue Sky (formerly Mount Evans) might be a nice add-on.

Might consider the train in Leadville too.
The free fish hatchery outside of Leadville might be of interest. We've done Leadville as a day trip from Breck and enjoyed it. We liked High Mountain Pies for their excellent pizzas.

Go over Hoosier Pass to Alma and on to Fairplay and visit South Park City, a recreated mining town/museum.

Here is a nice resource for drives:

We did the Boreas pass road in my son's Outback, slow and a bit rough in spots but scenic!

St Elmo ghost town along with the hot springs in the area.
Along with Boreas pass you can swing by South Park museum.

We like kayaking on Lake Dillon. I think you can also rent a pontoon boat if that is your preference. If you do breakfast in town, we love the Blue Moose. The "hike" to see the stroll is really just a short path, and he's a must see. Tour Country Boy Mine.

Rocky Mountain National park. enter on the west, exit at Estes Park. It would be an all day drive, but the scenery is worth it, IMO.
