My husband and teen son will be skiing at Breck next week. Any restaurant suggestions? They will be staying at Grand Timber Lodge. Thanks.

There are Many good restaurants in Breckeridge. High end and low end. One that stands out for a reasonable meal is Giampietro Pasta & Pizzeria. All the years we have been going to breck, this February we tried Giampietro's for the first time, great food, very small and low key but inexpensive.

Have your husband get the summit daily news (free daily circulation). Many establishments advertise specials in this paper.

We go in the summer and always get coffee and rolls at the Cool River Coffee House along the Riverwalk. Fun atmosphere and good pastries and breakfast sandwiches.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. has half price appetizers from 3-5 p.m. each day. Very good shrimp Apps. Also there is a burger joint called Eric's that is on main street. You need to go downstairs to get to it. GREAT PIZZA and burgers etc.. and very reasonable prices. Cool atmosphere etc... Great town and you will enjoy. I'm sure I will be in town that week as I live in Colorado Springs and ski there every week. Enjoy

Windy City Pizza, next to City Market, is my favorite. They have lots of choices other than pizza. For $12.95 you can get a large Italian Entree, soup or large fresh salad, garlic bread, and soft drink. The sevice and food are excellent. Nothing fancy.

Look at my TUG review under the Marriott Breckinridge, as I go into detail about each of the restaurants. However, we found the following to be very good:

Hearthstone is a romantic little restaurant with amazing food and sauces (and great desserts), set in an old, Victorian-style house with pioneer-style interiors.

Der Fondue Chessel is at the top of Keystone Mountain, and has a beer-hall atmosphere with great fondues and the best Bloody Marys I've ever tasted.

Good breakfast places in Breckenridge are the Blue Moose and Daylight Donuts.

Also, if you make it to Vail, we enjoyed Ti Amo, an Italian Restaurant.

Thanks everyone. They're off to Denver tomorrow morning, and appreciate the info.
