What type of entertainment is there for a 50ish couple in Branson during the summer? I am contemplating exchanging for a week at the end of July 2012 (which is on hold for me with II). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tim

Well, we're in that catagory and we always find plenty to do.

There's shopping, fishing, boating, hiking, shows, zip line, mini golf, go-carts, museums (mostly small privately owned it seems) and dining out.

We purchase season passes to Silver Dollar City and spend a few days at the park. SDC is more of a theme park (late 1800's) with lots of shows and shopping more than an amuesment park with rides. But, in the summertime, there's a ton of family's with kids and, it can be very hot. A show lovers pass gets you to the front of the line for most shows and is the best way around the SDC crowds.

What types of shows do they have?

We own two weeks there. My wife and I are in our early 60's and have owned there 10 years. All our family enjoys Branson including children and gradchildren. There is a new upscale development called Branson Landing with shopping and restaurants as well as fountain/light shows. There are also lots of outlet malls, shows and Silver Dollar City. The restaurants are good not great. We love Branson and go there at least once a year.:)
