Borrowed points reallocation

Does anyone know if it's possible to have HGVC reallocate points used for a reservation?

Specifically: I currently have two 2024 club reservations. The second reservation required me to borrow a few points from 2025. I'm hoping to cancel the first reservation and rebook it, if the right unit becomes available. This new unit would require fewer points, and the difference would cover the points I borrowed for the second reservation.

If I did this, can I have the borrowed points for the second reservation reallocated using 2024 points, returning the borrowed points to 2025? Or maybe this even happens automatically? ie. If points across contracts or years are not attached to a specific reservation, maybe any points from a cancellation are returned to the 2025 pool first?

Both of these reservations are within 60 days, so I can't make changes (or cancel and rebook) without eating the reservation fee.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned that the reservations are within 60 days. The number of points involved here are not worth the cost of a reservation fee. Thanks though.

Original question still stands, if anyone knows. If the room I want comes up and the points don't automatically return, I will call to see if they can move the points around, but thought someone here might have first-hand experience.

The first-hand experience is that it will need to be canceled and rebooked.

I have called and had them reallocate points in the past, but the agent said it would be a one time courtesy.. my guess is it not a service they want to encourage.
