Hi all - Happy New Year! I recently purchased a 2 BR OV EOY - even at MOC hotel side (Thanks Syed!) I am bound by school schedules so ideal travel weeks are - 2nd week of April, June-July, and holiday breaks. We recently did an Encore package at Westin Ocean Villas North and fell in love during that time. I even got a delicious Thanksgiving plate at Japengo of all places! As I am new to using my MOC timeshare, what are the chances I can book Thanksgiving (can be any check-in day Fri-Sun) if I book 12 months in advance? We have another WKOR Encore package to use in 2026 so I need to be strategic about booking two trips, and I fear missing out on my MOC week if I wait too late for Thanksgiving and it's not available. Thanks everyone!

My mom owned two EOY weeks in the old portion of MOC, and for nearly two decades she booked them both at Thanksgiving week, every other year, and we went as a big extended family at Thanksgiving. My partner and I also own at WKORV so we always stayed there, while most of the family was down the beach at MOC.

I inherited one of the MOC weeks when Mom passed away last year, and my sister the other one, and we booked for Thanksgiving week in 2024 and went one last time as an extended family. The important part of all of that is to know that it's easy to book Thanksgiving week so long as you do it EXACTLY 12 months ahead – to the minute. Use the "when can I book?" feature on the MVC website to figure out when the bookings will open up, and be online right at that time. That's what I did in November 2023 and I had no problem getting the room for 2024, and my sister had the same experience.

We probably won't be going at Thanksgiving any more, so you can have our rooms, lol!

Mom always did the reservations by phone, I think she'd wake up early and be calling right at 9 am eastern time, she always was able to reserve what she wanted.

So I wouldn't worry, just be sure you know when the availability will open up for the week you want and be ready to pounce at the appointed time.

I booked Thanksgiving week for 2025 at 12 months out. I would have use the Website, but I had an existing reservation that I needed to modify, so I had to call in. I called at 9:00:00 and by the time the agent got my week reserved, the only available option was a Sunday check-in. So, they went fast in the first five minutes or so. We are in the same boat with kids on school schedules. We still plan to travel Saturday to Saturday and we just grabbed a night at the Westin hotel the night before our MOC stay begins. It will actually work out great as we will have the TS all day until our evening flight out on Saturday.
