I booked 2 getaway weeks for a friend at Maui Ocean Club. She wants to add a few paid nights to her reservation. When she called the resort to inquire about staying in the same room, they asked for the Marriott # on her reservation. I didn't think Interval used a Marriott #? Anyone have any insight .There is an interval # on the reservation. The resort didn't have her reservation. We booked on a Sunday. Does it take awhile for the reservation to show up

Yes, the Marriott reservation is on the PDF Exchange Confirmation they email to you. It is listed beside "Reservation Number" on the right hand side below the unit details. It is not the "Confirmation" number listed below the date.

I believe the confirmation certificate has 2 #, one is the II number and the other is the Marriott reservation number.

Regardless they will not guarantee the reservation be in the same unit but there are steps you can take to make it more likely. They may not be able to get both weeks in the same unit either. I'd figure out the exact unit type and view type and request to be in the same unit the entire time. Hopefully they are exactly the same. Then make the cash reservation in the same unit type as the second week. It usually just takes a day or 2 for them to get the info, I'd call again tomorrow.

To add to Dean's post, you'll find the room code in your trade history next to Unit ( ie. HZZAA):

I am presuming this shows up in a getaway, hopefully others can confirm.

Just ran into this issue also and I can confirm that the Marriott reservations numbers are now on the II confirmations. Marriott owns II now.

The Marriott reservation number has been on the II confirmation for as long as I can remember. It is not related to Marriott owning II.

At one point the underlying unit type or unit number was on the confirmation but this ceased years ago likely because the resorts were complaining about issues when the exchanger were not assigned to that unit or if they had a bad unit type, trying to get upgraded.

dioxide45 you have had better luck/knowledge than we have. We shown up for years (Hawaii mostly) with paper II confirmations in hand and had the agents flummoxed and spending a long time trying to find our reservation. It may be getting better, but our experience over 20 years has been that the II and Marriott reservation systems have not been well integrated. May be a name issue also, as II seems to screw up or names on the reservations as well!

But at the end of the day we get great vacations and are at Marriott Timber Lodge now ❄️

The Marriott reservation # has been on every confirmation that I've ever seen for a MVC exchange. It's true that II doesn't transmit the MVC status of the exchanger anymore so the resort doesn't have your MVC information. But you do have to look at the 4 page pdf itself and not just the email itself they send when you complete an exchange to see the reservation #. Having the reservation listed in the computer for the destination MVC has never been a problem for us either. The situation I've seen where I would anticipate it being a problem include if the MVC is where the names don't match up such as a name change, hyphenated last name, where someone goes by their middle name or where the lead name on the II account is not the one you are checking in under. II only sends the main name even though they will list 2 names on the confirmation. Also if it's just a day or 2 between confirmation and check in can sometimes be an issue. If you give them the MVC reservation # in those situation it should help them find it. Another thing you can do is to pull it up on the Marriott.com side to see it's in your name which you can do with the MVC reservation #, check in date and name of the main person listed.

Thanks Dean. I suspect for us it is a name issue. Husband I have different last names and I have a double first name (no hyphens thank god). Interval seems to send the names in scrambled form and often they find it under my husband's first name. I am going to call interval and get the name issue straightened out and that should help! (And I always bring the printed out version of the 4 pg PDF with me.)

As I noted above, if you give them the MVC reservation # that should fix that issue as long as you have an ID that matches. II has a primary and secondary member essentially so they only send the info under the primary member but on the confirmation they usually list the other person as well. My understanding is they will not list more than 2 on an account even if more than 2 are on the timeshare deed. You might try to get II to list the best person first, either the easiest or the one who travels most.

One time about 3 years ago I had an issue with a Newport Coast res. I called the pre-arrival desk at the 21 day point to make my unit location request. They couldn't find my reservation. I gave them both the Marriott res # and the ii confirm #. The Marriott number helped them find the reservation. But, strangely, the res was still under the original owner's name/account. I think that it took at least 1/2 dozen phone calls and emails to both Marriott and Interval to fix it. ii told me that they had faxed over the reservation info to Marriott either 3 or 4 times. When we finally got everything straightened out I think that I was within just a few days of check in. When I talked to the pre-arrival people they told me that because I was so slow at making my request that it was unlikely that I would get my unit choice. #$%%&*@! After I explained the massive cluster ---- they worked with me and gave me a fairly decent location. I suspect that the problem was really at the Marriott end - - but that is just speculation.

The key to finding the res was the Marriott number.

As MVCI owners, we have several Marriott exchanges via II coming up in 2021 but none show up on our Marriott account. I’ve tried putting in the Marriott reservation number (on right side of II confirmation) on our Marriott account but it says it can’t find the reservation. I can’t seem to get the II Marriott reservations to show up in our Marriott account. Any suggestions?

What locations?

We had this same issue with one of our weeks in Hawaii. It actually showed in our Marriott account and then disappeared. I was confused and slightly panicked and went down to the front desk to see what was going on. They said that sometimes when the reservation information finally gets pushed to the resort the reservation number gets changed from what it shows in the II confirmation. She had no idea why but that’s what happened. She gave me the new reservation number and I could then find the reservation number but oddly enough it would never allow me to add it to our account so I could see it there. Strange situation but it all worked out.

A couple years ago when we had an II exchange to an MVC resort, we had to manually pull up the reservation # in Marriott International's hotel reservations/BonVoy system and then add our BonVoy number to that reservation. After we did that, it showed up automatically under our Marriott.com profile.

This is how we always have to do it. Sometimes it takes right away and sometimes it won't find the reservation for a couple days even though it says you can search by date. There is also a trick to changing your email address for the update to actually save.

Thanks. I will try the above suggestions and see if it works.

If there's more than one name listed on the II account, try them all. You can always call MVC directly if needed.
