Getting a weird error message that I can't book 12/31/25 as I apparently don't have enough points (even though >60k pts available from 2027)...
I can book from 1/1/26 on but won't let me book NYE= 12/31 as apparently no 2025 pts available, ??
(I had saved plenty of 2025 pts into 2026 earlier but don't remember which reservations I booked them into)..
What is this about?
(for the future, will wait until end of the year for saving 2026 pts into 2027, to avoid this issue, as no cost to save as EP here)..
? workaround
(? call CS to move pts around)
TY!

You can only borrow one year - 2027 into 2026.

And if you look at "My reservations" and then select one you are curious about, you'll see which points you used.

You saved 2026?

You can use 2025, saved 2025, and 2026 in 2025 but you can't use 2027 in 2025. That is the reason that you can book starting 1/1/2026, with 2027.

Not sure about your reservations but you can shuffle them to free up 2025 points, book with those and then rebook a 2026 reservation with 2027 points.

I keep a spreadsheet to track all of my reservations and point usage (which year the points are being pulled from, saved, current, and next year).

You can click on each reservation, and it will tell you point usage.

Another spreadsheet :-(

may need to start doing so (like all the other spreadsheets I have been putting off, like all the coupons for CSR, AmEx Platty, Aspire etc)...
Life is spreadsheets!

We do very few (maybe 3-5) HGVC reservations a year, so don't need a spreadsheet to track this. All trips in general, however, are tracked in several different sheets. If I did make more HGVC reservations, I'd have a sheet for that, too :)

Cheers.

Holy HGVC, Batman! I woulda spreadsheeted that 4 pgs ago. a sheet for TSs, a sheet for rental cars, a sheet for flights,
I actually keep all of this on the same sheet. I have a couple of columns for flights, multiple for accommodations, parking arrangements, rental cars including all booking references and prices in some cases so I can check as time goes by. Then I have some formulae to troll the listings and count up the Hyatt nights as we track that for status. There is also a separate sheet in the workbook to track all hotel awards (we get 11-12 per year) so that they all get used, and for as close to the maximal number of point equivalents as possible. I find that having all things related to a single trip in the same place simplifies things for me.

Then I have a separate calendar sheet for each year that lists the dates of all trips to, again, count the Hyatt nights (as a cross check) as well as all nights away from home.

Then I track frequent flier miles on our various status airlines to be able to map out the plane travel year.

But, yeah, 5 pages of HGVC might warrant a separate sheet just for points tracking across the TS system.

Cheers.

I use a free app called Tripit for travel arrangements such as lodging, flights, parking, rental cars, etc.

I tried Tripit for a while, but it didn't do for me the same things that I get with my spreadsheets since they're tailored to what I want to document. I think the app is great in a general way. It just didn't do enough for me.

Cheers.
