Find certain standard view rooms also have decent savana view. Just curious how to make such request. Do you call or email? Any success? Thanks for sharing.

Just call to add your names, ask for a location with a view, if at all possible. I would also ask at the front desk upon arrival, but usually you just get a way to unlock the door with your phone or Magic Band and that takes personal prefences out of the equation Kind of disappointing to not have that personal touch, but it is what it is.

I recall when that when you do online check-in, which can be far in advance, there was a menu and place for requests.

Just be sure you call and put everyone in the reservation so everyone gets access to the deluxe and onsite perks

I haven’t stayed in a standard view at Jambo, but I’ve read that you should request a villa on the Kudu Trail to have the best chance of a partial savanna view.

Did you book with your own points, rent from an owner, or exchange in via II?

If it’s a points booking, the owner of the points needs to chat/email/call MS to make the request.

If you’re booked on an II exchange, you need to call DVC and tell them you’re coming on an inbound exchange. You’ll need to give them the names of all guests including infants. They’ll give you the Disney confirmation number for you to link the reservation to MDE, and you’ll need to link all guests to that reservation through your Friends & Family list, so that everyone can take advantage of benefits such as Deluxe Extra Evening Hours. You can also make your request for Kudu Trail when you call.

Have fun! I love AKV!

When we stayed at Kidani Village it was through an RCI exchange. Excellent Savannah view.

What people are getting with II exchanges I don't know. Hopefully the same.

Thanks for the tip. I booked with points. Savana view is harder to book at Jambo house and I am saving Kidani Village for an exchange. I have been waiting for my trader week to transfer for 2 months... Next summer is a possibility - saw many Kidani weeks in Sightings board. Does anyone know the email to make room request to DVC? It's my preferred way - easy, clear and direct.

Kidani has so many more DVC villas than Jambo that I’m not surprised it shows in Sightings more than Jambo does.

I send emails via the Contact Us link on the member website. I like that way best too because I usually get an acknowledgment of receipt pretty quickly, followed by an email saying my request has been noted but it’s not guaranteed, etc. OTOH, sometimes I use the Chat function if it’s available on the member website, because I can save or print a copy of the transcript afterwards.

When I did online check-in, which was many weeks in advance, there was a section for requests in MDE. I recall there were some menu options and I think you could also add something.

We last stayed in a Disney property last year, so my memory is a bit hazy on the exact format.

If the Touring Plans room finder is accurate, there only seem to be two Standard View 1-bedrooms that have partial Savannah views in Jambo House, one off the lobby and one around the corner on Kudu Trail. All of the other Standard Views overlook the pool.
