Bonvoy number messed up on II reservation, who do I call?

I pulled up an II exchange to a MVC property on marriott.com and I absent mindedly pasted the same reservation number into the Bonvoy number field. Saved. Oops. It is now blacked out and cannot make edit on the Bonvoy number. I called marriott.com and they said it's a Vacation Club reservation and they cannot change the Bonvoy number. Do I call MVC on Monday? Or should I call the timeshare property? It's for a stay in Dec 2025.

If you put your Marriott Bonvoy # in, you might be able to see it on your Marriott account. Doesn't always work that way.

You likely won't be able to fix it until checkin. I understand once the Bonvoy number (right or wrong) is entered, it can't be changed. You could try Bonvoy customer care, but I also understand they are locked out from modifying it also. Owner services may be able to help, but with it as an II exchange they may not be willing to do it.

I already tried marriott Bonvoy side and they said they cannot change. Maybe I can call the timeshare?

The resort may not even be able to see the reservation this early. I understand that they really don't get reservation details until a couple months out from checkin.

It may also be wise to tread lightly with MVC in this regard. I don't know that I would bring too much to their attention about adding Bonvoy numbers to II bookings ahead of checkin. While I know it can be done and many here, me included, add it to our reservations. I don't know that it is officially sanctioned. Earning Bonvoy ENCs on II getaways and exchanges kind of lies in a gray area IMO.

Thanks. Another way around it is to retrade it for exactly the same date at the resort. It's Christmas week so I will have to be patient.

Yes, that should also work. There is certainly some process that removes Bonvoy numbers when a week is deposited. So it can apparently be done, but I don't think reps in customer service are able to do it. The resort can certainly change it when you check in.

We once had to change from wife's # to mine. We responded to the room coordinator email (we had used previously) and they changed it. But this was a couple months before check-in. They seem to have the most power over the reservation, including combining separate reservations #s into one, etc.

Thanks! That is certainly one way to do it if they would do something about it. :)
