Bonvoy Nights earned on Weeks deposited with II

Since I had to cancel my Maui weeks, I thought I’d be loosing out on the night earnings as well. I just checked my Bonvoy account and I see the 14 nights credited plus the 1000 bonus Bonvoy points per week.

Is this normal with II deposits? Maybe because it was a “late” deposit?

Not normal. Likely a mistake or a gift given Marriott cancelled the weeks.

I haven’t seen that on deposits. We deposited our MKO and MOC weeks for late June before the 60 day mark and didn’t receive any elite night credits. However, we will likely only trade into a MVC or Vistana resort, so we will receive credit then.

Best regards.

It has been reported that people who have their rewards # attached to their weeks that are deposited often get credit when the trader stays in their weeks and doesn't change the #. But since one week is checking in today, that's odd. Sounds like an error. You may want to delete your post so no one sees it. :ponder:

I don’t believe anyone stayed in the week. Since I was depositing about 14 days prior to check in, they said that the weeks would remain in my account and that we would get the certificate.
Interestingly enough I did receive a folio at the end of the first week showing no charges. I haven’t seen anything for the second week. Either way, I’ll take it.

I noticed before this for my HI weeks in April also. Those weeks that got an II certificate. At least a small win, maybe ? :/

That is what my account shows for the 1st of 4-7 weeks at MM1, but I’m actually staying here. I sure hope they also don’t bill you for the occupancy tax.

And I’m guessing this is not related to the automatic 50% elite nights being added by end of July. Although getting credited 14 extra nights doesn’t really help much since status has been granted for next year unless you’re close to 50 or 75 nights to get the bonus suite night awards or working towards a lifetime status goal?

1,000 bonus points are only worth $8 for each week, but every bit helps.

Can't see how the transient occupancy tax will be billed as no one checked in and left a credit card.

Take the free nights being added to your account. Rarely do you get a mistake in your favor.

I had a check in at MKO for Easter week and cancelled that one. Got an AC week but no credit for those nights that we cancelled.

This has nothing to do with II. My guess is that Marriott gave you a credit for the stays due to the impossible nature of staying there. Others should chime in.

Probably didn't get the reservations completely removed from Marriott's system before they processed the $99 fee ACs they gave you. They may fix it, they may not.

No occupancy tax billed. Fortunately.

When they night credits posted, I was wondering whether I would see an occupancy bill. Glad I didn’t as that wouldn’t have been fair.
