I’m a long time MVC weeks owner.

We are currently on a multi-week stay at a Westin Vacation Club property on Interval exchanges. My husband’s Bonvoy number is attached to each reservation. They seem to be unclear at the Front desk if we get night’s credit. I told them we do and was told no.

Does any one have any recent experience?

Whenever I occupied a villa at KAA or KAN (since the merger), I remember that I had to call and fight for those elite nights. I remember giving up on at least one stay as the 7 elite nights was not worth the aggravation and time spent trying to get the credit. Hope you have better luck than I have had.

If your Bonvoy number is on the reservation, then you should get credit. Don't rely on the front desk for the information except for them verifying the Bonvoy number is attached. If you don't get Elite Night credit, simply submit a missing stay request after the required 10 days. I get credit automatically for StarOption based reservations but never for II getaways. No issues getting credit for the getaways.

We have been getting Bonvoy night credit at Westn timeshares for some time now, most recently at Westin Princeville last month (StarOption exchange).

For the Vistana I have done, I log into marriott.com once I have a reservation number and search for missing stays, and add my number. Thus far, always get the credit.

Are these II based reservations? Just curious as I do the same thing, but our last few stays at SVV never show up automatically and I have to do a missing stay request.

Yes, I own nothing at Visatan so all II. I'd say I've had 5 of them as a guess. Heading to Sheraton Desert Oasis tomorrow, then later on trip to Mission Hills and we'll see if I get those too. Maybe there's an SVV oddity? Did you get it at other Vistana using your method?

Also have a Westin Paloma coming up on same trip, but not a timeshare. All added via marriott.com

We have consistently been having issues when staying at Westin Mission Hills. This past Nov and Dec, we stayed 13 nights, 6 nights stay using SOs and 7 nights through II trade. Bonvoy number was added to the reservations before we showed up - the SOs one already had my Bonvoy number, and I manually added my number for the II trade. None of the nights showed up after our stay. I had to submit missing stays for each of them using the folio which I had to request from Westin Mission Hills. The folio showed "Westin Vacation Club". I had one response which said they did not recognize the folio as I needed to have one that was issued to me by the resort. Duh, it was issued by the resort. I kept re-submitting until someone added it. The following week, I had to do that again for the second part of the stay. I had to fight to get them. It was important to me because I needed the 13 nights to make 75 nights to get a free night certificate.

Prior years we had the same issue with stays at Westin Mission Hills.

First time at a Westin last Wednesday & Thursday night. Had my two nights credit by Monday, January 23rd. So you shouldn't have any issue as long as long as your Bonvoy number is on the reservation.

.

At Westin Lagunamar, no automatic credit. Submitted a missing stay request, then got night credit and points for restaurant spend. My Bonvoy number was attached to the reservation ,verified at front desk, and then printed on the folio at check out. Still, stay has not posted automatically.

I had the same thing happen a few months ago, except even after the missing stay request I only got elite night credit, no points for spend. I was too tired to fight further for the points.

Same here. Finally got nights credited but no points for spending. I resubmitted asking for points for spending and got a response that nights were already posted. I gave up.

We had great difficulty getting credit for a 1 week stay at Sheraton Broadway Plantation in 2022. Our Bonvoy number showed clearly on the folio. I submitted a Missing Stay Request, which was denied. The Marriott rep I dealt with finally relented after several back and forth emails. In the rep's final email, she said she was giving us a gift.

Most of the time, we check out with a zero balance on our stay. I read a tip somewhere here on TUG that perhaps making a small purchase during a stay (so that your balance isn't zero) might help, but I haven't had a chance to try that. But based on the above 2 posts, maybe that's a dead end too.

When I open a missing stay request, I always put in the comment box something like this; "This stay was part of my ownership with Vistana Signature Experiences and should qualify for the Welcome Gift and Elite Night credit per section 7.1.c.i of the Bonvoy Terms and Conditions". It seems to have eliminated the back and forth that I also used to experience.

We just completed a getaway stay at SVV. A couple of weeks before check-in, I took the Interval reservation number and found it on marriott.com, made sure to add my Bonvoy number, and then double-checked that it showed up in My Trips the next day. When we checked in I got the "thank you for being a titanium member, here's a few dollars' worth of Bonvoy points as your gift" and the stay posted about 48 hours after we checked out.

Yeah. That hasn't worked for us. Checked and double checked that Bonvoy number was attached. It showed in My Trips. We have had a stay with a $0 balance at checkout and one with a $50 balance at checkout. Neither got automatic credit.

The person who checked us in did not acknowledge my husbands Bonvoy Titanium status or mention a welcome gift. He was rather curt when I asked him what Westins policy was for cleaning/tidy at the end of each week during our 3 week stay.

Good. I like this idea. Here's a link to the T&Cs:

Was as SVV last year and did as you did. Added to bonvoy account and verified at check in number was attached. Did not get elite night credits or Ti welcome gift. Just let it go after a few emails.

I suspect you weren't scraping for nights though? With your Ko'Olina stays which probably post automatically, you probably don't have issues getting to 75 nights each year.

We got the night credit and status checkin credit automatically w/o any fuss a couple years ago @ WKORV. You mentioned Interval exchange - could that be throwing things off?

I agree with earlier suggestion getting a receipt with your Bonvoy number and check-in/reservation number before you leave.

I suspect II stays are different. We didn't have an issue with a StarOptions booking at SVV, but the II reservations don't post automatically for us.

I stayed at Westin Desert Willow in mid December. It was an II exchange. I had put my Bonvoy number into the Marriott.com "My Vacations" prior to my stay. When I checked in, I confirmed that they had the number. 10 days later... no credit. I needed that to maintain my Titanium status (75 nights). So, I hunted and found the somewhat concealed form/link for claiming missing credits.

I needed to provide a "folio". When I checked out I had no charges so they told me that the folio would be blank. Well, when I tried to claim the missing credit, I needed that "blank" folio. I called Desert Willow and their staff was really nice and emailed me my folio. After a couple of days, my missing nights credit showed up with 1000 bonus points but no base or elite points (I don't know if I was supposed to get them or not...). But I was happy that I maintained my Titanium level for another year.

So my feeling is that there is a systemic problem and TOO MANY people need to file for missing nights. Also, I encourage people to keep a copy of their paper folio and (if automatically sent - - mine wasn't) the electronic copy of the folio to provide proof when needed.

Since you had no charges, there would be no base or elite points.

You are right, have no problem getting 75 nights a year for wife, son, brother and myself. We used to get a head start with for wife and I at 30 nights each (credit cards). This year, wife got 40 (15 business and 25 brilliant) and for some reason with the same cards, I got 55 to start off with. Waiting for the 50&75 night benefit to be avaialable choose for 2023.
