I found many complaints on Blue Bay Club, Cancun. They say ' Stay away from them.' The reason is TS owner can't use their RCI points for RCI's partner program which has 60.000points usege limit/year.

Yeh, I agree with them. I think 60,000 points limit is not fair.

What I want to know is ' Why Blue Bay Club owners have such a huge amount of points.' Some has around 6milion RCI points, some has more than 10m. What's that ? What kind of system does the resort offer?

10milion RCI points worth around $100,000, and I don't think owners pay such a big amount of MF every year.

Does anybody know the system ?
Do you think we'd better stay away from them ?
Please tell me anything you know about Blue Bay Club, Cancun.

Best regards,

I'm curious also about Blue Bay Club

Someone contacted me recently regarding RCI Points because I was looking for them. He said he had 500,000 points. I asked about the use year. I was told they would expire in two years and that the usage date didn't start until he deposited them into his RCI Points account.

I hadn't heard of the Blue Bay Club in combination with RCI Points before, and I sure don't understand anything about how it works and depositing those points into RCI, etc., etc., etc. Therefore, I wasn't interested in his offer because I just don't know anything about Points Club.

Please read this.

Most of them are talking about 60,000 points usege limit/year of RCI partner program. I understand why they are so upset, but I really don't understand why they have such a huuuuuuuuge amount of RCI points.

Also, they seem they paid much less amout of money which we normaly pay for 1 point.

It means, if we accept 60,000 usage limit/year, that system would be the best point system. Don't you think so ? We could stay 52weeks/year at resort if we want to.

By the way, I found another very interesting resort/hotel in Japan.

http://went-awaji.jp/ It is in Japanese.

They say we have 13 nights/year as an owner. Usually in Japan they go by night not by week.

The strange system they offer is.

1 We can stay there as much as we want (besides 13 nights) if there is unoccupied room. (There are many owners who don't use their rights to stay)
2 We can exchage as much as we want as long as the resort has capacity to exchange at RCI.

They explain that they do bulk space bank 5 rooms all year around. So it will be 5X52 weeks = 260 weeks which owners can use to exchange at RCI. At the moment there are only few members who use this system, so it is just like unlimited. In Japan, TS is not popular as in USA, especialy exchanging resort is not for everybody. Also, RCI Japan was established in just few years ago.

Resale TS is aroud US$20,000 and MF is around US$50/month. They don't have new TS. All sold out.

I though I was going to buy this resale but nobody knows what would happen in the future, and I am not interested in staying at this resort itself, so I passed.

There are many sorts of TS and some has different system. I got lost in this TS world and it is very hard for newbee like me to understand.

Here is the post . which talks about the limit that RCI has put on using RCI points for things other than RCI point TS stays.
This is from a RCI notice:
In addition, we have made another important change to the program concerning the number of Points you can use per calendar year. You can now use up to (a) 33% of your annual Points allotment, or (b) 25,000 Points, whichever is greater. An upper limit of 250,000 Points per calendar year applies.
I have no idea where the "60,000" points limit is coming from since RCI limit is 250,000 /year.

PLease note this is just for "using RCI points for things other than RCI point TS stays."

To me, this is clearly targeting owners who use PFD (Points For Deposit) to get really big point totals to use RCI Points for airlines and such products. With the new limits, you will only be able to use PFD for RCI Points resorts.

What really ticks me off about RCI is that they always try to spin a negative into a positive. I'd be happier if they just told us the bad news and left it at that.
Please note You get points via PFD by depositing a week at a non RCI point resort and getting extra RCI points for doing so.
