Blast across street from Worldmark Palm Springs

A car bomb was set off yesterday at a fertility clinic across Palm Canyon Blvd from Worldmark Palm Springs (bomber died in blast). I thought the general area looked close to that location from the film on the news yesterday, then people on Facebook were saying the resort had damage. I believe the photos I lifted from our local Daily Breeze newspaper show damage at Worldmark. Just checked FB again, resort has been evacuated and is closed until June 2nd.

The explosion that took out the clinic yesterday was large enough to damage the lobby and some rooms at the Worldmark Palm Springs. All guests were evacuated is what was posted by a guest on Facebook. Here is the FB post and an article.

A suspect believed to be the perpetrator of the reproductive clinic bombing in Palm Springs, Calif. Saturday, has been identified as Guy Edward Bartkus, 25, a resident of Twentynine Palms.

WARNING! If you have reservations at WorldMark Palm Springs, the site is still on lockdown due to the unfortunate events that occurred today (bomb/ explosion from a nearby medical center).
The staff, local police and FBI evacuated everyone. They did allow people who were currently staying there to get their belongings. We were not provided other options to book so we just drove back to San Diego.
There was extensive damage to the lobby and several rooms. I recommend booking a different resort in the meanwhile. Not sure when they will allow guests again. Investigations are on going as of 5/17.

What did those folks do that weren't able to just drive home? I would think they would have had to have offered to rebook *something* for them? What if they had just checked in at the start of their week, and had flown in?

This is a tragedy, and I'm not minimizing the larger issues at play here, but these timeshare-related questions are worth pointing out.
