I am trying to learn about Bilt Rewards for paying rent. I was considering using my United credit card to earn 2 miles per dollar but with a 3% fee, I am not sure it is worth it. It would earn PQPs towards status which is nice, and occasional bonuses but still not sure it is worth it. How are others using Bilt? Adding to my confusion is the fact that they are rolling out new credit cards this month and have no info online. The property doesn’t partner with Bilt, so I would have to pay Bilt and they set up an ACH which seems complicated but maybe it isn’t a big deal.

I use Bilt to pay my rent. Pay directly from my bank account, so no fees. Each month I get Bilt Rewards that are cash and can be used to reduce my rent. Not very much, about $10 a month

Generally any fee is going to wipe out any reward point value you would get from any transaction.

Oh man and I started to get excited when they said I could earn points from paying my mortgage. Currently only earn bilt points from Lyft rides and dining with plans to transfer to Hyatt points. Also, I am double dipping on the dining by earning AA miles and bilt points. I don't think I'm supposed to. Bilt is supposed to know I registered the card with another dining program and remove my card from theirs but they didn't.

Our building runs its MFs through Bilt and I just ran a test payment of $100 to see what happens.

Annoyingly enough (and despite what Chase/United wrote), the Bilt payment website wrote that I will get 1 point for every $2 spend.

I don’t know if this means I’ll get 2 points, 2.5 points, or 0.5 points (and have to call).

I’ll let you know in a few days once the payment clears.

I have looked at the card a few times, but we have a mortgage and no rent, and it didn't seem like it would really benefit us. I tested out the dining and shopping option with Bilt, and it unenrolled me from the United Dining program. I thought about it, but decided I would rather stick with the United Dining, so I would have more points in one place instead of a small pool of Bilt points.

The new mortgage option is generating a lot of buzz, and some bloggers seem really excited about it, but I agree with Dioxide45; it seems likely that there will be a fee or some type of limits and restrictions that reduce its appeal.

So...I misunderstood the new Chase United Club Card/Bilt benefit.

I received 50 Bilt points for the $100 payment. And I should receive 200 United miles (100 + 100 bonus) when my payment cycle closes toward the end of this month.

Since I value United Miles at 1.5-1.6 cents the 3% fee makes paying with my United card worth it because of the PQPs and 1/2 a Bilt point. YMMV.

I found conflicting info on earning Bilt points when using the United Club card. You are saying you earned the bilt points when using the united card? That is what I was hoping and if so, I agree, it makes a compelling argument to pay the 3%.

So…my understanding is that no matter what credit card you use to pay your rent (or maintenance) you get 0.5 Bilt points per $ spend.

What’s unique to the United Club card in 2026 is that it gives you 2 United miles per $ spend.

I read the fine print again and still can’t find where the 0.5 Bilt points AND the 2 United miles per dollar spend is earned when paying with the United Card. I guess I will give it a try, it sounds like you already received the Bilt points.

The 0.5 Bilt point appeared immediately in my Bilt account after making my maintenance payment.

The Chase/United T&Cs say that I will get 1 mile through the normal Chase/United process and that Bilt will post an additional mile directly into my United MileagePlus account sometime between 5 business days and 6-8 weeks from the rent payment.

*Terms and Conditions:

...When a Rent Spend payment is made using an eligible United MileagePlus Chase Card linked in the Bilt wallet, the MileagePlus number associated with that card will be linked to the corresponding Bilt Rewards account. One (1) mile per $1.00 spent on Rent Spend made using an eligible United Chase Card will be fulfilled by Chase pursuant to the cardmember agreement for the applicable credit card. Please allow up to 2 billing cycles for Chase to post the miles to your account after qualifying purchases are made. One (1) mile per $1.00 spent on Rent Spend made using an eligible United Chase Card will be fulfilled by Bilt. Bilt will post such miles to a cardmember’s MileagePlus account within 5 business days of the qualifying Rent Spend or later, depending on when the payment is processed and validated....Please allow 6-8 weeks after completed qualifying activity for miles to post to your account.

It took some effort to get Bilt setup and maybe something is different about my situation, but I paid rent with United card and did not earn any Bilt points. I wonder if “maintenance payments” is a different category, I am making a rent payment. This means I am paying 3% fee for points valued at about 2.6cents. I need to consider the PQPs earned and bonuses such as the spend 20,000 earn 10,000 certificate and other quarterly bonuses they offer on spend on the card. Difficult to say it’s a win, but I also wanted the convenience of credit card payments. A wash at best in my mind.
