Palm Springs Tennis Club (2-bedroom Wimbledon) - 2 units
Lagonita Lodge (4 units: Christmas week, New Year's Week, 2-bdrm Lakefront, 3-bdrm Bear Peak)
I was contacted by Royal Timeshare Unlimited in August, 2022, telling me that I had booked a timeshare getaway that I hadn't used (true), and offered me the opportunity to book 4-night timeshare vacations in a few destinations with a few all-inclusive timeshare resorts for a pretty reasonable price; timeshare tour required. I checked out their website (https://www.royaltravelunlimited.com/) did a little searching online, and didn't see anything alarming, so thought they were legit. (Their brochure is attached). I thought they might try to nickle and dime me with extra charges, fees and upsells, but I never suspected the WHOLE THING was a scam. I paid $1,400 in advance for: a 1-bedroom villa for 4 people, all-inclusive for Dec. 27-31, which required 90-minute timeshare tour for me and my husband; they sent me a confirmation, and said the resort (Villa del Palmar in Cabo) would contact me a week in advance to arrange the shuttle.
When I didn't hear from Villa del Palmar by Dec. 22, I contacted Royal by phone and email, but got no response. I then contacted Villa del Palmar, where they told me they had NO record of my reservation, and I would need to contact Royal, or book a new reservation w/ them at about $2K/night (room only; not all-inclusive). Of course (as you can now guess), I called and emailed Royal numerous times, and got no response. So, on Christmas Eve I was scrambling to book reservations for 3 days later, the busiest week of the year - and finally managed to get rentals 2 nights at Royal Solaris (no bueno) and Welk Sirena del Mar (awesome). Feel free to check out my TUG reviews. I am now disputing the charges from Royal with my credit card. Very frustrating experience.
So, moral of the story, pls beware of Royal Timeshare, RTI Network (that was the name on my credit card statement), or (they could have changed their name by now), any entity claiming that you didn't use a timeshare vacation you previously booked, and they can offer you a "deal."
