Hello all, I just got an email from “Marriott Vacation Club” this morning saying my email address has been changed to something that is not mine. It had the MVC logo and looked real but still seemed fishy. I didn’t click any links in the email but separately called MVC and they confirmed my email address has NOT changed and my account is secure. So this is apparently a really good scam email. Beware!!

Thanks for brining this up. Our inboxes are bombarded every day with phishing attempts. The most important things to check are who the email address comes from. THis can be spoofed, but if the from address doesn't look legitimate, then it isn't. Also check the link to any hyper links. Don't trust what is actually typed into the message body, the actual link behind the text can be different. Hover of the link and it should show you the actual address that the link goes to. Also look at who the email was sent to. I often see emails that are sent to hundreds of people. These are certainly scams.

Also simply log in to your account directly through the web browser to check on things. If everything still looks as you expect it, then the email is probably just trying to steal your login credentials.

Not only Spam -- some e-mail services allow me to mark as "phishing"
Which is how I would categorize this type of false message.
