My wife has recently been diagnosed with cancer so needless to say travelling is out of thr question

I wish to rescind from my timeshare in Peninsula Bali and was hoping to get some advice as to the best way to approach this.

I am so sorry to hear about your wife.

Are you within the recession period? If not, you can't rescind. If you have fully paid off the timeshare you can try to sell it, see if the resort will take it back, or give it away. If you still owe on it, it becomes more difficult. Where is it that you own?

I suspect that as @squilissimo posted their first post today, and had first joined TUG 5 years ago, that this 'rescission' is a bit too late to accomplish.
If this is the case, he has bigger problems than a timeshare. It very likely has little to no monetary value. My advice is to simply stop paying. Yes, there will be possible consequences, but over time, they will resolve themselves and you will put it all behind you. There is a wealth of information on TUG and if you have further questions, feel free to ask.
