I have rented out a Marriott Week that I own-first time I have done so
What is the best way to list my renter on my reservation ?
I think I read that it was best to add their name to the reservation and also keep my name on it but I can't find that thread.
Seems like I recall it was easier to change things later if the renter wanted to sub someone else in.
I will probably be calling Marriott tomorrow but wanted to have some idea of what I was talking about first

1.) Log into your Marriott Bonvoy account
2.) Click on My Trips
3.) Click on the reservation
4.) Click on VIEW/MODIFY
5.) Scroll down and click on Guest Information
6.) Type in First Name and Last Name of the person that will be using the reservation
7.) Click Submit.

Marriott will e-mail you an updated reservation with the new Guest Name (e-mail normally occurs within 1 minute of the change). The reservation will still be attached to your Marriott Bonvoy account which enables you to change in the future if required.

I do this for all Redweek rental reservations and reservations where someone other than myself will arrive for check in before I do. No need to call and have never had an issue using this process to date.

E-mail a copy of the updated reservation to your renter.....Done!

There is also a link to "Modify or Cancel Reservation" right in the body of the confirmation you were e-mailed when you initially made your reservation.

Interesting that when I called owner services I asked them directly if I can do exactly this: just log in to my Bonvoy account on marriott.com and change the guest's name myself, instead of calling them. I was told NO, I have to call. I don't know why they insist on calling.

Checked the reservation and my Bonvoy account and my Marriott Vacation Club account
I took title in a Family Trust and this was a week that the seller had already reserved and that went to me with the sale
Reservation is in the first two names of the trust and is not linked to my Bonvoy account
I will call
From what I could see you should be able to do it online

Job Security.... ;)

I was told the same. I couldn't find the place to add/change names AFTER the reservation was made. I saw it only WHEN I made the reservation

Follow @vol_90 instructions.

Every time I’ve rented out my MOC units, I’ve always just called the resort and they can add your guests name to the reservation. I usually do this when they make the balance of the payment around 30-60 days before the checkin date. I do give the renter the confirmation number when they deposit the 50% I ask for when they sign the renters agreement so they know it’s a legitimate reservation for a specific time but it’s still under my name. I’ve never gone online to do this. Much easier to call. I talk with the renter and tell them this is the process we will use and agree to.

Called the resort and they transferred me to MVC
Recording said wait was over an hour and I could elect to get a call back
I did elect and got a call back in about a half hour
No problem in getting it done
I expect going forward I can do it online but I won't know until I try

I just started doing the “do it yourself”
Method a couple months ago. So much easier and quicker. No need to wait on hold or wait for them to open. You can do it 24 hours a day.

Just an FYI
My renter called MVC to verify the ownership and reservation-I have no problem with my renter doing so
MVC told her the ownership was in a trust and verified the reservation and dates- I do have a small problem with Marriott giving out my personal information without my OK (which had they asked I would have happily given)
Not going to make an issue of it but it is slightly disturbing
