Best way to book open season?

Hey all! I am trying to get a 7 night open season stay in a 1 bedroom or larger at any of the options at HHV feb 16-23. It's midwinter break in WA and presidents day on the Monday we will be there so I know it's likely wishful thinking. Right now there's some openings but it's not close enough that I can book. What I am wondering is this - should I wait until my whole stay is within the open season period or if I can get some combo (3,4, 5) nights should I grab that as soon as I see it and then try to add on another stay? Is there any good way to attempt to get all of the nights at once? I think there would be if I was using regular club points but I'm just wanting to pay cash for this stay (it's for a work meeting so I want to use my work $$) Any tips would be appreciated! (and don't worry I already have a regular reservation in a hotel room at HHV just in case - but I'd really like more space that you get when you're in the timeshare)

Thanks in advance!

OS is a non-changeable reservation.

Good Luck :)

Currently the three bedroom GI penthouse unit is the only room type available for your entire stay (not bookable via open season unless you’re a penthouse owner) so you’ll definitely need to break up your stay unless there’s a last minute change.

If you book the first few days via open season, there is no guarantee that you’ll be able to book the remaining nights via open season. Expect some competition during a high demand week.
REMINDER: There’s a cancellation penalty within 30 days of checkin.

HGVC may release some of their unsold Hilton.com inventory at anytime during the Open Season window. I just checked and they’re mostly sold out of HGVC inventory for your 7 night stay (see screen capture below) except for the Grand Waikikian. So there might be a possibility of additional GW inventory becoming available sometime during the Open Season window.
NOTE: I didn’t try 3 or 4 night combinations.

Open season there is no cancellation available. It is use it or lose it penalty.

With Open Season Cancellations
• 30 to 16 days prior to the check-in date will result in forfeiture of 50% of the Open Season rental rate used to confirm the reservation
• 15 or fewer days prior to the check-in date will result in 100% forfeiture of the Open Season rental rate used to confirm the reservation

wow i always thought OS was 100% non refundable

Always thought it was 100% forfeiture. Now I know different. Figures as I have only used OS once in these 15+ years of HGVC membership.

Thanks for the correction.

Also, you can not purchase cancel protection on OS.
