Resorts Owned
Spinnaker and Sheraton oasis, Grandview
I presently own a few Vistana resorts but I have traded into Hilton Grand Vacationsa few times and they seem pretty good.
I am considering adding to my portfolio just not sure which one is most advantageous I.e. maintenance fees, locations, exchange power etc.
Although I have owned for a while never really followed this much but curious about Marriott and Hilton.
Thanks

We own both Westin Maui and Hilton Grand Vacations. We have been happy with both because they offer complementary locations and capabilities. You should read other forum stickies for each system for guidance. "Best" will vary depending on each person's situation and each system has their pros and cons.

I think they are comparable in quality but they both have some older and newer resorts. I have owned both.

I like HGVC for different locations than Marriott. So really look at the locations.
Also HGVC is a top trader in RCI and Marriott is in II.

I have owned both and liked the HGVC system better. I would like to say I would not by another Marriott because I feel like they are greedy and have never forgiven them for the skim built into the points program. But if it was an unbelievable deal I would consider one of their properties in Hawaii, Aruba, or Newport Coast.

I think that HGVC has lower buy in price and generally lower MF. The only knock on HGVC is not enough variety of locations. The kept building more and more resorts in Vegas and Orlando back when I was an owner. If you get one of the SW Florida properties some of them will trade in both II and RCI

Thank you

I own at both HGVC and Vistana. I like both systems due to their flexibility, locations offered, and quality/comfort level of accommodations. We primarily use our HGVC for travel to Hawaii (Oahu and Big Island), but we've also used it for Orlando, Italy and Las Vegas.

I first bought into the HGVC system and now own 2 deeds in LV, but since they didn't have a property on Maui, our fave HI island, we decided about 1.5 years ago to purchase Vistana for more Hawaii options. Of course, shortly after purchasing our WKV deed, HGVC ended up going through with Maui construction which should be done next year! I don't regret it though, as I was able to snag a WKV 2BR platinum deed at a smashing deal, and so long as the systems remain the same I can sell one of the properties if needed.

IMO, HGVC is a good complement to Vistana. :) Good luck!
