Are there any credible timeshare resale companies that provides REAL value to the consumer?

I've only found companies that do little more than provide would be sellers with a link on their website, that gets ZERO traffic.

Any referrals would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on what you are selling. If you have a generic week somewhere, the chances are good that your week is not going to sell easily. If you have a name brand week, like Hilton or Marriott, why not sell it yourself through the various sites listed here on TUG?

The most important thing to remember is never to pay an upfront fee to sell your timeshare, and that is what most of the sites do. Results are not guaranteed (they say they are, but they are not), and they will not refund your money (they say they will, but they don't), and those companies have no incentive to sell your week, because they already have the money THEY were after. What is the motive for helping you find a buyer now, once you paid?

I got a telephone call yesterday from a guy saying he was with Gold Coast Realty asking me if I was interested in selling or renting my timeshare. He ahd buyers and renters lned up. I asked which timeshare. He hesitated and then said "Polo Towers." I said yes but that I was not paying any upfront fees. He hung up on me without saying word. I own several timeshares but the only one that I regularly get called about is "Polo Towers." I even got called before the timeshare was registered in my name by the resort. I had had a bad experience with Vacationman and Timeshare Freedom resulting in about 20 months of limbo.

This is just a terrible time to try and sell a timeshare. The most expensive resorts are only going for about 50% of the original cost, the mid-level resorts are going for 10%, and the bottom tier resorts can't even be given away right now. There are all kinds of TS auctions for $1 on ebay, with no bids. There is nothing that any reseller can do about the market.

For info. about agents that Tuggers have used, see the list at the top of this board.

I have purchased all my t/s's resale and by far the best experience I've had was with Seth Nock. He does what he says, uses closing companies who do what they are supposed to with no surprises or delays.

I can't say that about the other's I've bought from or through.

Best Resale Companies

I nominate Shelley Preece at Transaction Realty. Great service, great prices and always willing to assist you with your decisions. Website is always current and has plenty of inventory. You can't find a more reputable licensed resale agent.

Keep in mind that the quality agents like Seth and Shelley work on commission so they can only assist with properties that have some real value.
