I know, I know, the best time to visit Harborside Atlantis is.... anytime you can, but from a water activities standpoint would May or end of August be best? Water temperature is my primaty concern -- anyone feels strongly one way or another? Would the ocean temp be warm enough for swimming etc. in May? Is humidity and heat unbearable in August?

I would choose May over August. August will be hotter and in the middle of hurricane season. I do travel often during hurricane season...luckily no major problems so far...but I always worry as the trip approaches.

May is before hurricane season so that is better. It is also much less crowded in May. I have been twice in May and the weather is great.

Either month can be a wild-card, we visited once in May and it was still a bit chilly to swim. All other times we've traveled were in August, out of the last four visit in August we got stuck there during hurricane Irene, that wasn't fun. Next year going in mid- July. Hoping to escape humidity in the ocean.
