best property to use Marriott points/package in Europe

We're staying at the Amsterdam and Budapest Marriott this year to and from a riverboat cruise this year. We'd like to use points/package next September (2019) for a stay in Europe. In the past years, we've used them London. Years back, I remember reading about the Greece Marriott being near the parthenon, apparently, it was sold, because the new Marriott listing doesn't seem to exciting. Does anyone have any suggestions. We're open to Italy, France, Portugal, etc. Seems like there are a lot of SPG properties, but using the 3:1 conversion of points, it would be quite high. Again, not sure how the package awards will be after the final merger this August. Thx
 
Trying to find the best property to decide where to go seems backwards. You need to decide where you would like to see and then look at hotel properties. We stayed at Gritti Palace in Venice. It was lovely. We stayed at Westin Excelsior this year and Grand Flora last year in Rome. Liked neither one but Grand Flora was at the bottom. Next time we will try the St. Regis in Rome if we were to return.

Next year we will be staying at Amsterdam Marriott Hotel.

We have not tried France or Portugal, but will in the coming years.
