Best options for skiing?

This is an amazing thread. I’m learning all kinds of things. I just bought into HGVC with the intent to use for Hawaii, Park City, and Breck and eventually more options as DEX trades hopefully. I am using my Crag lodges deed to try to book these in club season 9 months out.

One timeshare system that is sorely lacking in this thread is Worldmark. It is definitely not going to be 5 star accommodations but all of their ski resort properties (and there are many) are pretty nice and some are ski in/ski out.

Worldmark has Park City (incredible ski in , ski out), Steamboat, Whistler; and Tahoe. Worldmark will also have many other great ski locations that involve small drives like Mt Bachelor, Banff, and other ski properties in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho, Colorado and Utah. The maintenance fees are also reasonable, and people can rent discounted points from other members to augment their point size from year to year.

I’m still considering a worldmark but need to let my HGVC digest first, but one other thing is that it can also also trade decently in interval but won’t get the first availability of the Marriotts.

In terms of location Marriott probably has some of the best, but Worldmark has the most.

That said everyone is different and since I live in the NW and have great ski resorts in my backyard I rarely travel to the fancy ski towns. I like a lot of the smaller resorts that can be found on the Indy Pass or the Fusion pass.

How far in advance do you need to deposit your SDO to be able to obtain a ski week? And you are depositing this into Interval and awaiting a trade, is that correct? I am trying to plan for the next ski season...
For my Kimberly match, I grabbed it on a manual search in August 2025 for the third week in Jan/2026.

Most of my Colorado ski weeks have come from an OGS started in late spring or early summer. I have flexibility when I can go as long as I know in advance. I usually land my weeks before labour day.

Some of my best ski weeks have popped up on a manual search looking simply at Colorado, Montana, Utah and British Columbia for any winter weeks. I scored a 3 bedroom at the Sheraton Steamboat for Jan/2024 that way.

Extraordinary. Congrats.

Was yours an OGS or were you just lucky on an instant exchange? How far in advance did you get it?
Usually OGS, but I have scored good weeks on manual searches as well. The manual searches that work occur when I cast a wide net.
