best Mexican restaurant in Albuquerque?

I will be heading to Albuquerque in a couple weeks and watn to sample the best mexican in town.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I think you will enjoy Church Street Cafe in Old Town. While you are there in Old Town stop in Angel Town and tell Effie that Theresa (her cousin) said "hello".

We have not tried Church Street Cafe in Old Town so I don't have an opinion.

We have lived here 12 years and our favorites are:

Sadie's Dining Room -- best food

El Pinto--best ambiance and very good food. George Bush's favorite here. He has been there 3 times and always orders the nachos. We usually take out of town guests here.

Garduno's--best mariachi band. I would not recommend except when it
is performing. There are several. Strong preference for the Garduno's on Montgomery.

All have websites with menus, directions, etc.

I used to live in Albuquerque and second the recomendation for El Pinto. Everytime I'm back--which isn't often enough--I make a point of going to El Pinto.

We haven't been to very many in ALB, but El Pinto is a delightful place. We'll go back there again for sure!
