Going to SurfClub in Aruba in 3 weeks. Wondering what is the most reputable, reasonable rental car company in area. Suggestions? Thanks.

I. too, have had good experience with Top Drive. Have used Royal many times, but Top Drive's cars are consistently much better (ditto for the "new" option- although "new" in Aruba doesn't necessarily mean new).

I had initially used Econo at the airport. Even though Top Drive is a short ride away, in reality it is quicker than waiting to check in at the airport rental place (at least Econo). A Top Drive rep. is always there, it is a short ride away, and check in is very fast. Even fast with car seats last year. On the return if there's room a rep. drives you back in your car to the airport.

Had a very good experience with Avis.. National cars were junk..

I've had good experiences with Tropic. Hans is a gentlemen and reliable. Pick-up and drop-off at the airport is quite convenient. I was not pleased with Royal and National.

Just got an email this morning. They're all booked up

Top Drive has the cars and the year of the car listed on it's website, which is nice to have, since Aruba Car rental agencies tend to keep cars alot longer than we are used to in the US.

Hans is nice, but he is always booked up and only has one type of car. His cars are in good shape, but not always new.

I would sign up for the Premium Car Rental insurance via your AMEX card if you have one - $25 for the whole rental provides alot of peace of mind.
